Spanish Cuisine With Krasnodar Ingredients

Krasnodar is a city with a rich history, Cossack traditions and southern colouring. It was founded at the end of the 18th century as a fortress called Yekaterinodar (Catherine’s gift), and became a civilian city in the 19th century. It began to attract many merchants and manufacturers with its moderate climate and friendly business atmosphere and little by little Yekaterinodar became home to people from many different nationalities. In 1920 the city’s name was changed to Krasnodar. Nowadays people of more than 120 nationalities live in the city, with each individual group bringing its own contribution to the local cuisine. One restaurant featuring delicious local treats is Española, a venue located in the heart of the city’s historic centre. Here diners can try both traditional Spanish dishes, as well as those based on the chef’s own unique interpretation of Spanish cuisine.
