In the native village of the writer there is a memorial museum-reserve in honour of bright and distinctive genius Shukshin. The exposition in the former Srostrki school where Vasily had spent his childhood helps to learn more information about him. But to get the comprehensive idea of Shukshin's inner world, feel simple truth of his characters one need to have a slow walk around the village, go down to the Katun' or climb Piket mountain.
