Kulikovo Field is one of the most significant places in Russian history. It is here that on September 21, 1380 the Russian forces, under the leadership of Moscow prince Dmitry Donskoy, defeated the Golden Horde. It was one of the largest battles to take place during the Middle Ages, first marking the unification of ancient Rus.’ RTG TV host Andrey Ivanov visited the historic site where the battle between the Mamai’s forces and Russian soldiers took place. There he learned about the architectural ensemble located near the village of Ivanovka in Tula Oblast that is dedicated to the Battle of Kulikovo.
