For more than half a year Baikal, one of the biggest fresh-water basins in the world is chained with ice. RTG TV camera crew has visited Baikal in the end of July - this is a perfect time for the trip because the lake and its surroundings look stunningly. Local people as well as  many Russians simply call Baikal The Sea.  Actually,19 persent of the total world's freshwater concentrated in one place, so that no borders can be seen could hardly be called a lake. There are 27 big and small islands on Baikal. Our viewers have a chance to visit Ushkany islands located in the middle part of the lake. These islands were chosen by Baikal eared seal  for rookery.
