Kostroma is Russia's ancient city on Volga river that made significant contribution to the nation history. The events happened there put an end to the Time of Troubles in 17th century. It was then in Kostroma that Mikhail, the first Tsar of Romanov dynasty, was saved and crowned. Monuments to ancients architecture still preserve their original appearance there, and atmosphere captures feeling of merchant life colour. Life runs smoothly but vividly there.
