In the old village of Nizhnyaya Sinyachikha there are many fine monuments of Russian wooden architecture and objects of folk art. The small village has managed to preserve three centuries of Ural history on just a few hectares of land. Many chapels, huts and towers were in a decrepit state when they were discovered by enthusiasts, who decided to restore them. The open-air museum reserve in Nizhnaya Sinyachikha attracts thousands of tourists every year. These visitors get to see the village’s many wooden structures which help to preserve the aura of life from several generations. Here ancient traditions, rituals and beliefs can all be seen in the work of these little-known Russian architects.
