Villages in Rostov Oblast are, in most cases, ancient Cossack settlements. To learn about Cossack culture is not the only reason however, that tourists tend to visit these areas. The estuaries around Rostov-on-Don are popular among those who wakeboard, and many kite surfers have fallen in love with the Azov coast as well. There a modern golf club can even be found right next to the former residence of the area’s Atamans (Cossack leaders). Host Denis Golovko dived right into it all in RTG TV’s programme.
