In the Karachaeva-Cherkessia Republic, located in southern Russia in the Caucuses Mountains, the tranquility of the majestic mountains is accompanied by the clear, rushing waters of the area’s rivers. Due to the large number of glaciers and mountain streams, many lakes, waterfalls and small and big rivers can be found in the republic – where many of them have their source. RTG TV host Denis Golovko travelled to the area in search of mountain trout. Local fishermen shared their thoughts and tricks of the trade with him, teaching him how to catch the easily-frightened trout and ensuring he head home with a good catch.
