Glinka Museum of Musical Instruments

Hundreds of thousands of museum artifacts are kept at the Glinka Museum of Musical Culture in Moscow. A large number of these items include musical manuscripts and publications, along with various instruments used by peoples from around the world starting in ancient times and continuing through today. 13th-century harps, a violin from the great musical master Stradivarius, a theremin and an ANS synthesizer can all be found among the collection. Host Irina Pudova visited Fyodor Shalyapin’s manor, which is also part of the collection, finding out what a work of art can sound like, what pipes and animal horns have in common and how to play the Buhay.
