The first months of spring on the Volga see the waters riding high. They stay at their highest points for about two weeks. RTG host Stanislav Salnikov visits the Yenotaevskaya region of the Astrakhan Oblast at the optimal time of year, May, when the fish starts biting actively, when the air temperature climbs as high as 30 degrees Celsius, and when the mosquitoes and midges haven't really begun to swarm. Only certain tackle will work for fishing at this time of year, but everyone comes back from a fishing trip with a trophy catch.
