The beauty of Valdai Krai is like that only found in fairytales; here dense forests surround the banks of the area’s many lakes and rivers, with every season bringing about a change in the area’s colours. In the summer everything is bright and sunny, while in autumn the region is characterised by more pastels and haze. Every year more than 60,000 tourists visit Valdai Krai for a relaxing escape in this untouched corner of Russian nature. The area’s undeniable natural beauty inspires and lifts the spirits of all those who have the chance to see these protected areas. RTG presenter Nadezhda Lebedeva visited the old city of Valdai, known for its collection of bells, and also travelled through the Valdai National Park where she got to enjoy the forests and lakes found in the highest parts of Valdai.
