Diving in Russia

The only thing that can be better than mountains is the sea – or its depths to be more exact. This is what many professional divers have come to believe. Since ancient times people have been attracted by the mysterious wonders of the underwater world, however, until man invented a way to breathe deep underwater, each dive was very short-lived and incredibly dangerous. Nowadays the situation is much different and anyone who wants to can become a diver. In order to do this, a person must simply get certified and have the right gear before choosing their underwater route. RTG host Igor Vukolov recommends checking out the crabs, sea urchins and colonies of sea anenomies in Kamchatka, the ice caves found in Lake Baikal in the winter and the sunken ships at the bottom of Lake Ladoga. Unique underwater footage, breathtaking dives and freezing hardships among a warm company of divers are all in RTG TV’s new programme.
