Winter Fishing on Pezmeg-Ti Lake

The streams that run off from the Komi Republic’s Lake Pezmeg-Ti are an overwhelming sight come spring; they are literally teeming with fish. This phenomenon is both natural and artificial. On Lake Pezmeg-Ti people practice an original method of fishing that provides a solid catch while still helping the fish population to survive. This is a vivid example of how mankind aides nature and still manages to benefit as well. Host Andrey Ivanov tested out the fishing hotspot using special traps called “gymgi” as well as found out about the traditional industries and natural wonders of the Komi Republic’s Kortkerossky District.
